Sampling of Financial Education Programs Supported by
State Banking Departments
CSBS/FDIC PARTNERSHIP
PROMOTES FINANCIAL LITERACY
In a ceremony held March 26, 2003 at
FDIC’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. the Conference of State
Bank Supervisors (CSBS) announced it will partner with the Federal
Deposit Insurance Corporation to promote and distribute the FDIC's Money
Smart financial education curriculum to each of the nation's state
banking departments.
Representing CSBS, Chairman Gavin Gee and FDIC Chairman Donald E.
Powell signed the memorandum of agreement officially launching the
partnership. The CSBS will deliver copies of the FDIC's Money Smart
financial education curriculum to all 54 state banking departments.
Money Smart is available in English, Spanish and Chinese.
