December 9, 2011 – Luis A. Aguilar was sworn in Thursday to begin his second term as a Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Aguilar began his first term as a SEC Commissioner on July 31, 2008. He was appointed by President Barack Obama to a new term on Oct. 24, 2011. To commemorate the start of his second term, a ceremony with agency staff took place at the SEC’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. The event was officiated by U.S. Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey.
