June 6, 2011 -- Last week the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) issued a special alert to insured depository institutions regarding fraudulent emails claiming to be from the FDIC.  The emails, which appear to be sent from various “@fdic.gov” email addresses, have subject lines that read: “FDIC: Your business account” or “FDIC: About Your Business Account.”  The emails are addressed to “Business Customer” or “Business Owner” and ask recipients to click on a link to find details about their bank or financial institution.  Read more.
