March 11, 2011 -- The Federal Trade Commission will host a public seminar on April 28 to analyze how debt collectors are using new technologies, and in turn, how this is affecting consumers. The discussion will feature academics, government officials, industry representatives, consumer advocates, and technologists. The seminar will focus on how collectors are using new technologies, consumer protection concerns, and how legislators should respond to those matters. Comments and data are encouraged and must be received by April 7 to be used for the seminar.Â
