November 9, 2011 – Fannie Mae has announced the opening of the Capital Area Mortgage Help Center Wednesday to provide free education and counseling services to struggling homeowners in the Washington, DC area. The Capital Area Center is the twelfth Mortgage Help Center to open across the country, and is part of Fannie Mae’s ongoing effort to ensure that homeowners facing foreclosure understand their options, have access to assistance and receive timely resolutions. The Center was developed in partnership with HomeFree-USA, local community and elected officials, and area mortgage servicers.
