September 19, 2011 -- The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) issued this statement Friday regarding the appointment of Esther George, first vice president and chief operating officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, to president and chief executive officer of the bank. “ICBA congratulates Ms. George on her appointment to president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. ICBA looks forward to working with Ms. George to ensure that the views of the 10th district’s community banks are represented in the bank’s decisions,” the press release stated. George will succeed Thomas M. Hoenig, who is retiring from the bank on Oct. 1.
