May 16, 2011 -- On Monday, the White House released a framework for interagency and international cooperation to establish standards for responsible actions in cyberspace. The newly-released strategy, the International Strategy for Cyberspace, represents a “new era of engagement based on mutual interests and mutual respect,” according to Deputy Defense Secretary William Lynn. The new policy represents one of ten initiatives incorporated into the 2009 Cyberspace Policy Review, which called for the creation of both a cybersecurity policy framework and the strengthening of international cooperation.
