Washington, D.C. – CSBS has announced Jim Kurtzke as Vice President of Communications, effective today.
In this role, Kurtzke will be responsible for managing external outreach for the organization, including the development of communication strategy for CSBS members and staff, and for coordination and communications with members of the media.

Ryan. “Jim brings to CSBS extensive communications experience in the financial services industry, making him a valuable asset. Jim will be instrumental to our media outreach, and I look forward to his insights and contributions toward advancing the state banking system.”
Kurtzke has served as a public relations and communications professional for over 30 years, and has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years. Kurtzke comes to CSBS from Freddie Mac where, since 1993, he worked in executive communications and business marketing roles. He was most recently Director of Communications Strategy for the multifamily business division. Jim is a graduate of Georgetown University, and earned his master’s degree in American Government at Johns Hopkins University..
Kurtzke succeeds H. Catherine Woody, who led CSBS’s communications functions since 2010.
