Material Loss Review Analysis
Below is an analysis of the Material Loss Reviews (MLRs) issued by the Offices of the Inspector General of the FDIC, the FRB, and the Treasury Department in the case of a bank failure that results in a loss to the Deposit Insurance Fund of greater than $25 million or greater than 2% of the bank’s total assets.
Included in the analysis is a spreadsheet that outlines the causes of the bank failure, the regulatory measures and assessments, and the criticism of the regulators as illustrated in the MLRs. The analysis also includes summaries of the MLRs.
While the CSBS analysis does cover a sizeable portion of the MLRs that have been released, it does not cover all MLRs.
