CSBS Bank Membership

The U.S. financial system is among the most dynamic and resilient in the world, thanks in large part to the diversity of institutions encouraged by the dual-banking system. From small towns to major cities, from family-owned businesses to large employers, this framework supports access to financial services that reflect the needs of the communities they serve.

The state-bank charter is central to this strength. It preserves local accountability, fosters innovation, and sustains a competitive marketplace where no single approach dominates.

As members of CSBS, banks support the state charter and the dual-banking system while gaining special access to CSBS leadership, dual-banking policy insights and communications, and tools that support bank operations and the safety and soundness of the banking system.

Program Benefits

  • Public Policy Leadership: A credible, effective state supervisory perspective advancing safety and soundness, right-sized regulation, and public policy that considers the impact on state-chartered banks and the communities they serve.
  • Bank Performance Dashboard (BPD): A member-exclusive tool offering 20–30 key performance metrics for all 4,000+ insured depository institutions – allowing member banks to benchmark their performance each quarter using metrics that supervisors rely on.
  • Member-Exclusive Webinars: Live briefings from CSBS leadership on legislative and regulatory developments, updates on public policy efforts to protect the dual-banking system, and guidance on maximizing bank membership benefits.
  • Quarterly Bank Membership Newsletter: Curated updates on state and federal regulatory issues, CSBS priorities, and opportunities for engagement.
  • BAI Integration Fee Waived: A one-time $1,000 integration fee with the Bank Administration Institute (BAI) is waived for new members, providing access to leading compliance training and education resources.
  • Membership dues also support critical systemwide efforts, including community bank research, examiner training, and investment in the next generation of community bankers and regulators.
